Eloise Keeler papers, [ca. 1938-1986].

Consists of corrected typescripts of stories, articles, radio scripts and poems, many never published. Drafts of published works are "Susanne: an intriguing comedy in three acts," and "The lie detector man." Corrections made in author's own hand reflect multiple stages of revision. Many of the scripts have comments and handwritten changes, which indicate that they were performed.

Eloise Keeler was born on Apr. 5, 1905, to prominent Berkeley writer Charles Augustus Keeler, and artist and photographer Louise Mapes Bunnell Keeler. Eloise Keeler graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1926, majoring in economics and acted in student productions. Poet, adventurer, naturalist, and artist Charles Augustus Keeler was born in Milwaukee, and spent his teen-aged years in California. He attended the University of California, and took a position with the California Academy of Sciences; he joined the Sierra Club, and published books on natural sciences.
